The Pine-Strawberry area is a small, quiet community nestled in the trees about 10 miles north of Payson. At just over 5,500 feet of elevation, the area offers a mild climate with spectacular views of the Mogollon Rim.
Restaurants are abundant in this small mountain community which also has its own brew pub. Mountain biking and hiking are also a big attraction here due to the region’s top-notch trails, picturesque scenery, and great weather.
The area was settled in the mid-1800s and has a lot of old buildings and history. Many of these old buildings have been transformed into businesses.
Summer festivals among the rural ambiance add to the areas appeal. The festivals kick off in May and continue through the fall.
These two communities have a year-round population of roughly 4,000 residents. However, the population more than doubles in the summer due to the areas many part-time homeowners. Homes are available in the area in all different price ranges.
