Cool Pines is a subdivision founded in 1958 with 440 homesites that contain a wide variety of cabins and mountain homes. The Cool Pines Subdivision is surrounded on 3 three sides by the Tonto National Forest. The Cool Pines Neighborhood is heavily treed with towering ponderosa pines, but also has a good mix of other trees that make the landscape particularly stunning in the fall. If you are looking for a quiet cabin in Pine with tall pine trees, Cool Pines is a good neighborhood to check.
The Cool Pines Subdivision is located towards the end of Hardscrabble Road in Pine, Arizona making it within walking distance of both the forest trails and the heart of Pine. There is no home owners association governing Cool Pines, but there were some deed restrictions on the properties. Most of the lots are just under a quarter of an acre, but there are some properties with a lot and a half or two lots. The cabins were all required to be at least 600 square feet.
Cool Pines is near the Pine Trailhead provided excellent hiking opportunities for residents. The Arizona Trail and the Highline Trail both pass through the area. The Arizona White Oaks in nearby oak springs canyon are a popular hike for residents looking for scenic fall colors in Pine, Arizona.
To reach Cool Pines follow highway 87 into Pine, Arizona. Turn west on hardscrabble road and head towards the end. Turn right on Navajo Road to enter the heart of Cool Pines.
