Bonita Creek is a neighborhood along the Control Road north of Payson, Arizona near Bonita Creek.
Control Road north of Payson is a scenic historical route built in 1935 that runs below the Mogollon Rim — the dramatic ridge that defines the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. Beginning near Tonto Village north and east of Payson, and running to Pine, Arizona which is north and west of Payson. The winding road takes you on 23.4-mile journey through the ponderosa pine forest, crossing seasonal streams and the East Verde River. The total trip over the well-graded gravel road takes a little more than an hour.
Along the control road you will find a number of neighborhoods for those looking for a more rural setting. The communities tend to be in the forest, with some along water features or meadows.
